3 Days, 3 Hairstyles

Hi everyone!

Last weekend when we were away (post here) I kinda chucked my hair up and well, to be honest, I really quite liked it and I thought that I may sorta explain how I put it together and put some pictures on how it looked (don't mind the yet again crap-ola iPhone shots).

So it just happened that the style I did for myself was on three day old washed hair.

1. As I only have wavy natural hair and not curly natural hair, I got my sister to braid it before we went anywhere. I left it in for the rest of the day and slept on it that night.

Back view, a good braid in tacked from my sister (thanks sis!)

Top view, a few fly aways but I'm used to it because my hair is layered.

2. On the second day I took my hair out in the morning and left it out for the day and if it got in the way I put it up in a loose pony tail so it didn't crease the curls too much.

This is how curly my hair gets after it been braided and slept on over night.

Front view, sometimes I think that my fringe looks a little bit odd at the front so I just use a head band to keep it our of my face.

3. The final day I decided to go for something different for a change and plaited the bottom half of my hair that sits at the nape of the neck. Then i twirled the plait into a bun and pinned it in place with bobby pins to hold it together and then pulled out little side bits to frame my face a bit more.

This was the final look of the night, it didn't fall out and looked great.

Clothes: K-Mart Floral T-Shirt (pure class, i know), Jay Jays Striped Jumper (1-2 Years old), Jeans West Skinny Jeans, Studded Black Flats from Spend-Less-Shoes

Left side view, I twisted and pinned my fringe out of my face

Right Side view

Back view, It's kind of a fuzzy picture because there was bad lighting and iPhone Camera (not a good combo, sorry) but that's what it looks like.

I think that this style is very versatile for day and night wear and can definitely be pulled off at any hour. It's a messy look with a bit of sophistication.

A Small Getaway

Hello Everyone!

My family and I all went on a short holiday on the weekend. It was a nice little escape while it lasted!

We went away as it was my uncles birthday on Saturday and he wanted to go away for his birthday so he suggested that my family, his family and our grandparents all go away to celebrate his 50th. We went to Brunswick Heads in New South Wales. We stayed at a camping site that had cabins and so we stayed in one for two nights along with our grandparents that took their caravan away and stayed in that whilst my uncles family stayed in their own cabin.

We stayed in cabin number 5 which was named 'Starfish'. The view was amazing, our cabin was right on the rivers edge, the river sparkled all day and all night long.
As it is June and soon to be July so that means that it's winter and it's freezing so it was track pants, jumpers, socks and hot cups of tea all round!

I took some snaps of the scenery and I'll put them in, Sorry for the crap-ola iPhone shots because I still don't have a good camera *sigh*
This was the first morning we got there. It was freezing! So, a cup of tea snap on the balcony it was!

The tide went down later that day, it went down so fast and so low! You could literally walk in the middle of the river.

Unfortunately the colour of the water was a yucky brown colour at low tide but at high tide the next day it was a lovely clear blue but silly pre-occupied me forgot to take a picture (i know, i know, kudos Sam)

Because i had my iPhone, I decided to take a couple of Panorama shots of the bridge as we walked a long it.

Don't mind the back of my sister as we were walking along the bridge.

On the last night we stayed there, my cousin, sister and I all went for a walk to the mouth of the river to watch the sunset, it was lovely. There were a lot of people there but it was still really peaceful and calming to breathe in the salty air.

So, there it is, the holiday we went on for the weekend.
In my opinion it was really cold but worth it. It was literally the longest time I've spent out of the house in a while (oops). It was really great to spend time with my family as we haven't done anything like that in a while. Anyways, that's it from me!

The Charlie Diaries

Hi Everyone!

I thought that I'd just give you an update on the boy (dog) Charlie. If you want to read about when we first got him click here.

Today was a huge day for the small little puppy. He went for a ride in the car and back home again. So by about lunch time, he was tuckered out! He slept for ages and because both my sister and I were home today, we have a little fun with him playing with him while he slept. I managed to get a quick little video too!

New Hair Care Review

Hi everyone!

A couple of weeks ago, I went to my hairdressers house and she cut my hair and we got talking about all kinds of hair related things, especially about shampoos and conditioners, hair masques, and curl enhancing creams. Because I went with my mum and my sister, they heard the conversation and our hairdresser suggested that it may be a good idea if she got what products she thinks will be good for all of our hair. So, we gave her $30 as she gets discounts on products as she used to be in the hair industry.

Anyways, a couple of days ago we went to get our hair cut again and she had gotten the all the products. The total came into about $25 with a total of 10 products (5 for my hair and 5 for my mum and sister). She purchased me some products especially designed for curly hair as my hair is naturally wavy/curly and i haven't been using heat on my hair as much as I used to I feel like i need to embrace my natural hair.
The products for me where the C4U curl cure shampoo, conditioner and masque, the Alonzo Luminescence Curl Revive Cleanser and The Benz curl activator. The website links that were on the packaging of the products are here, here and here.

The shampoo and conditioner actually smell quite nice as they are not too strong but not too weak in scent. The shampoo has apricot oil, olive oil and Vitamin E in it so its all natural and does wonders to my hair. The conditioner has Rosemary, sage and nettle extracts in it which is as well, all natural for your curly little locks! They seemed to also take out some of the frizziness in my hair which is great as I hate it when it's frizzy.

The Curl Cure Masque has Pro-Vitamin B5 which I'm not entirely sure on what it does but it seemed to work pretty well which is always a good thing.

As soon as I put all of the products above on my hair in the shower, I noticed a difference straight away which is always pleasant to know that the product is doing it job like its supposed to. Even though some of the products are different brands I was really surprised at how well they all seemed to work on my hair all together.

The Curl Activator was not as great as I wasn't expecting it to be as it was really wet and runny. I hate having a crunchy feeling hair and unfortunately that's what the curl activator left with me which I am disappointed but I may also have used more than I'm supposed to so I'll try it out with less product on my hands next time.

I looked these products up online and didn't find a lot, mainly because these are salon used products or they are discontinued as they are hard to find but I did manage to some of them. The shampoo, conditioner, masque, Alonzo Luminescence Curl Revive Cleanser and The Benz Curl Activator (I could not find any link for this one so it's either discontinued or a really rare hair product, I have no idea)

The great thing about all of these products is that they aren't animal tested at all which is always good and they have plenty of natural ingredients in every single one of them.

Thanks for reading,
