Merry Christmas, Sorry It's Late

Hi Everyone!

Woah! I haven't made a post in almost 3 months! That's bad. I've been really busy finishing school for the year and just being 'normal' again. Christmas has whizzed by on all of us this year yet again. Is it just me or does the anticipation sometimes feel more exciting than the actual day of Christmas?

Christmas was great for my family anyways, we went to the beach because it's never, ever cold in Australia at Christmas time. Camping around this time of year seems to always be a tradition in our family, ever since I can remember we have gone away for the holidays and I've always enjoyed it. The only bad thing about going to the beach for the holidays is the sand in your bed and the awful sunburn, ouch! As I am writing this post, I am red roar and very sore from the unforgiving sun.
Life's a beach!
So, what did I get for Christmas? Well this year I was particularly spoilt by my parents and of course by Santa Claus. The best thing I got was my camera (thank the lord I've finally got one). I'm not saying I'm a photographer or anything but taking photos has always been hobby of mine and I don't need to be a photographer just to have a nice camera.
Camera: Canon EOS 1100D
Now for the smaller presents. These presents included, bird shaped  and four leafed clover silver earrings, Real Techniques core collection brushes, Australis make-up finishing spritz, Revlon mascara and eyeshadow, Charlee blue purse, Our Moment One Direction Fragrance, Models Prefer Eyeshadow palette, Midnight Memories Album by One Direction, a 2014 Kikki-k Diary, and lots of clothes.
Some of my presents I received from my whole family
I have been one spoilt cookie this Christmas! Seeing the look on peoples faces when they open up there present from you is one of my many favourite parts of Christmas. Bring on 2014!

Merry Christmas everyone! x

Mini Haul!

Hi Everyone!

Today, I went shopping and picked up a few things. Even though I originally planned to go Op-Shopping but some of the Thrift Shops were closed on a Saturday afternoon - what a bummer! So we went to a normal shopping centre instead. I looked around for a bit before deciding on anything to get but in the end like always I seem to get a few things.

So I purchased four things in total, some shorts, two pairs of shoes and a small bag. Three out of four things I got were mint coloured. Oops. I like mint way too much right now. If I could have everything mint I totally would.

First I got a pair of mint coloured shorts that came with a creamy coloured belt. The shorts are a Herringbone style which I love the look of. I have chunky thighs and the shorts were mid thigh length and they weren't too short which is always a plus. They only cost $15 from Big W!

Second I spotted a cute pair of thongs with bows on the top of the straps. They are also mint coloured with mint trimming to keep the sole on the shoe. They were only $10 from Big W also.

The second pair of shoes I got are a casual slip on type, they kind of remind me of sailor shoes. These ones are not mint (oh my god!) they are pink and grey with a single shoelace on the top for decoration. These ones were $15 from Big W.

The final one and definitely my favourite purchase was a small bag that I fell in love with as soon as I laid my eyes on it. This one is a mint colour and is exactly what I was looking for (which I love when these things happen). It has a large strap that can be worn hanging on a shoulder. I love this style of bag the most because they are the easiest to carry around and they aren't too big. I got this one from Cosmetics Plus for $10.

And that's it! I hope you enjoyed this post!

Online Shopping

Hi Everyone!

I got a parcel in the mail a while ago (I got so excited it wasn't even funny) and when I opened it, I saw some recent purchases off of an online shopping site, Brands Exclusive. I love this website because they sell almost every thing and it's always on sale so I went online and I saw that the website was selling Revlon products  they were cheaper than they are in the shops.

(Again, sorry the photos are still pretty crappy, I still don't have the best camera in the world)

I purchased a few products. I got a Brow Enhancer Pen it's a two in one tinted wax and highlighter for blonde/golden eyebrows because although I have brown hair my eyebrows are very fair so basically the lighter the better for me. The wax for on the actual eyebrows to give them some shape and some beauty also the highlighter is a golden shimmery colour that is supposed to sit just below the eyebrow on the brow bone, personally, I don't particularly like this look so I think I'll just stick with the tinted wax for the time being.

The colour is in number 183 Lilac Pastelle
I got a nail polish (oh, how unlike me) and I've kept my eye on these kind of colours for a while now and I'm glad I got it, the colour is quite translucent and it needs a couple of coats to be a solid colour on your nails but when it's on it looks pretty an I think that it would look great on lots of skin tones. It's a very nice pastel purple with some pinkish undertones.

The colour is in 006 Pink Sugar
And finally, the very first lipstick that I've brought for myself (how exciting). I originally wanted something nude but I with held as I couldn't really find anything that grabbed my attention. So I instead stuck to the extremely original version, pink lips. I like this so much when I saw it, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened this up and swatched it on my hand, I thought that it would be more of a pigmented colour but it has more of a lip gloss look but when it's on it does feel like a lipstick. There is a subtle golden shimmer in the colour, I didn't notice the shimmer on the lipstick but I like it a lot even though it was unexpected.

Well, that's it. I feel like I've rambled on a bit today but oh well. I haven't posted in a while, I'm sorry about that. I've had completely no motivation to do anything lately and the creative juices haven't exactly been flowing. So, therefore there has been no blog post.

Weekends, Weekends, Weekends!

Hi everyone!

Just a quick post today.
Usually weekends are unproductive in our house (well, for me anyways). So I think I'll share a cute picture of the baby of the house, Charlie after he'd been washed, brushed, dried and cuddled.
He absolutely loves chewing on the stick thingy in his mouth after Dad doused it with Peanut Butter. It helped keeping his attention on something when you're trying to brush the knots out of him other wise he just runs away if he isn't satisfied with whatever you're doing.

Surely this weekend will be just as productive as the last one. Hopefully I'll get my room finished after clearing it out, getting a new desk and sorting out all my clothes into my cupboard instead of having Chester draws last weekend. We'll see how it goes, I really, really, really hope I can get it all finished.

Books I've Been Loving

Hi everyone!

Lately I've been into reading books on my iPad, which i have to admit is a bit strange for me as I've never been much of a reader but now i am. i read my books on iBooks as its easy to use and easy to put books onto your device. I get my books from the iBooks store and they have a rather large section and seem to cater for many people, there is also an option to looks at top authors or up and coming authors and this in my opinion is the best way to discover new authors. The books I'm going to write about are in no particular order because I love them all so much.

1. Just a Little Series by Tracie Puckett (7 Books released so far)
I've read all 7 books that have been published. The books constantly keep you on the edge of your seat and always wanting to read more. Just a Little Series is about a seventeen year old girl named Julie, her ups and downs she experiences in her relationships with the other characters in her time finishing high school. She has an unusual and quite shocking back story at first but it helps understand Julie a lot. She has an even more unexpected and unusual crush.

2. Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher
I'm over half way through this book. The reason I came across this book is because I found a lot of people on YouTube and on others Blogs talking about how great this book is, so I purchased the book online and when it came I started reading it. It's a great book so far, It's about a girl named Sophie May who lives in a small town near London, she works in a small local tea shop where it just happens that one day her world changes when she heard that there was a movie being filmed in her village.

3. Six Impossible Things by Fiona Wood
I've read the first couple of chapters of this book and I loved it. It's about a teenager who lives with his mum and who has six impossible things that he wants to do, he classifies them as 'impossible' as he sees them never happening but i think that there will be something along the way to change his mind about how he feels.

4. The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell
I love this book and the recently made TV series. This is life before the Carrie Bradshaw, the author who lives in the city with her four best friends. This is all about teenage Carrie and the battles she goes through to get to where she is in the future. This is all of Carries firsts, her first kiss, her first boyfriend and all the other great firsts that come along with them.

5. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
This wonderful and heart breaking story is narrated by a sixteen year old cancer patient, Hazel Grace. She is forced to attend a support group by her parents, it is here that she meets and falls in love with seventeen year old Augustus Waters, and ex-basketball player and an amputee. This story is guaranteed to touch your heart strings.

These books are absolutely wonderful, I love every single one of them and I hope you do too if you ever come across them yourself.

Instagram Prints

Hi Everyone!

A while ago I was putting some photos up on my wall. I was thinking about some of my Instagram photos and how I'd like some of them to be on my wall as well as the ones that are already there. So it was then that I decided to research some where that prints out your own Instagram photos.

So I did, and with my research I found luck! I ended up coming across an Australian company called Origrami that prints 36 of your photos choice into Polaroid style printed on satin paper for about $20. Which i thought was a bargain as they are double sided photo prints, one side has the photo and the other side has a location map (if you have it enabled on your Instagram account), date taken and how many likes I've received for that particular image.

Front of the packaging

Back of the packaging

I was delighted when I opened the box as I found a little thank you note on the inside from the people who make it. Small things like these please me so much! Small things do in fact amuse small minds.

These are some of the Instagram photos, I think they look pretty darn good.

This is what the plain backed ones look like, fun colours and different images of vintage cameras and old styles cameras.

As you can see on the back of the photo there is your user name, photo, the date and how many likes you received.

And this is the location mapped ones or the geotagged ones, what ever you want to call them. (This one was an accident as I didn't think that the location was avaliable, oops!)

Origrami ships free worldwide which is great and convenient for everyone, all over the world. The company is Sydney based, owned and run by a married couple, they came up the the name of the company as they share a love for craft and Instagram so, Origami + Instagram = Origrami!

A couple of days ago, my photos came and I was delighted at the outcome, it was great! I'm so pleased with them all! Hopefully they will be up on my wall soon. In the mean time, if you'd like to swing by and follow my Instagram that would be a delight.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while (sorry!) I'll try to blog more in the future,

3 Days, 3 Hairstyles

Hi everyone!

Last weekend when we were away (post here) I kinda chucked my hair up and well, to be honest, I really quite liked it and I thought that I may sorta explain how I put it together and put some pictures on how it looked (don't mind the yet again crap-ola iPhone shots).

So it just happened that the style I did for myself was on three day old washed hair.

1. As I only have wavy natural hair and not curly natural hair, I got my sister to braid it before we went anywhere. I left it in for the rest of the day and slept on it that night.

Back view, a good braid in tacked from my sister (thanks sis!)

Top view, a few fly aways but I'm used to it because my hair is layered.

2. On the second day I took my hair out in the morning and left it out for the day and if it got in the way I put it up in a loose pony tail so it didn't crease the curls too much.

This is how curly my hair gets after it been braided and slept on over night.

Front view, sometimes I think that my fringe looks a little bit odd at the front so I just use a head band to keep it our of my face.

3. The final day I decided to go for something different for a change and plaited the bottom half of my hair that sits at the nape of the neck. Then i twirled the plait into a bun and pinned it in place with bobby pins to hold it together and then pulled out little side bits to frame my face a bit more.

This was the final look of the night, it didn't fall out and looked great.

Clothes: K-Mart Floral T-Shirt (pure class, i know), Jay Jays Striped Jumper (1-2 Years old), Jeans West Skinny Jeans, Studded Black Flats from Spend-Less-Shoes

Left side view, I twisted and pinned my fringe out of my face

Right Side view

Back view, It's kind of a fuzzy picture because there was bad lighting and iPhone Camera (not a good combo, sorry) but that's what it looks like.

I think that this style is very versatile for day and night wear and can definitely be pulled off at any hour. It's a messy look with a bit of sophistication.

A Small Getaway

Hello Everyone!

My family and I all went on a short holiday on the weekend. It was a nice little escape while it lasted!

We went away as it was my uncles birthday on Saturday and he wanted to go away for his birthday so he suggested that my family, his family and our grandparents all go away to celebrate his 50th. We went to Brunswick Heads in New South Wales. We stayed at a camping site that had cabins and so we stayed in one for two nights along with our grandparents that took their caravan away and stayed in that whilst my uncles family stayed in their own cabin.

We stayed in cabin number 5 which was named 'Starfish'. The view was amazing, our cabin was right on the rivers edge, the river sparkled all day and all night long.
As it is June and soon to be July so that means that it's winter and it's freezing so it was track pants, jumpers, socks and hot cups of tea all round!

Photo }

I took some snaps of the scenery and I'll put them in, Sorry for the crap-ola iPhone shots because I still don't have a good camera *sigh*
This was the first morning we got there. It was freezing! So, a cup of tea snap on the balcony it was!

The tide went down later that day, it went down so fast and so low! You could literally walk in the middle of the river.

Unfortunately the colour of the water was a yucky brown colour at low tide but at high tide the next day it was a lovely clear blue but silly pre-occupied me forgot to take a picture (i know, i know, kudos Sam)

Because i had my iPhone, I decided to take a couple of Panorama shots of the bridge as we walked a long it.

Don't mind the back of my sister as we were walking along the bridge.

On the last night we stayed there, my cousin, sister and I all went for a walk to the mouth of the river to watch the sunset, it was lovely. There were a lot of people there but it was still really peaceful and calming to breathe in the salty air.

So, there it is, the holiday we went on for the weekend.
In my opinion it was really cold but worth it. It was literally the longest time I've spent out of the house in a while (oops). It was really great to spend time with my family as we haven't done anything like that in a while. Anyways, that's it from me!
